It is perhaps one of the most expected films of the year 2012 and has songs to boot. Sony Music recently acquired the music righst of Dharma Productions' AGNEEPATH, which stars
Hrithik Roshan, Priyanka Chopra, Rishi Kapoor and Sanjay Dutt. “AGNEEPATH is one of the much awaited movies of 2012 and a great addition to the growing repertoire of Sony Music," said a spokesperson.
To reach out to music lovers with six chartbusters from the film, Sony Music first released 'Chikni Chameli' digitally on December 12th, while the album digitally was made available on December 16th and physical release was done on December 19th across key retail outlets. It’s no news now that ‘Chikni Chameli’ has swept the charts. The other songs are waiting to follow suit.
Karan Malhotra's remake of this cult classic comes alive with sensational musical compositions by musical duo Ajay-Atul.
The songs of the movie encompass a wide array of themes ranging from romance, dance to qawalli and devotional making each song blend strongly with the theme of the scene/character.
The extensive use of live instruments for recoding these tracks gives this soundtrack tremendous scale and impact.
Commenting on the acquisition of AGNEEPATH's music rights, Sanujeet Bhujabal, Marketing Director Sony Music India said, "The six new songs of this film are not only original and refreshing but also soulful and unforgettable. The soundtrack features voices like Sonu Nigam, Roop Kumar Rathod & Shreya Ghoshal with the highlight being a sizzling dance number 'Chikni Chameli' filmed on the nation's current heart-throb Katrina Kaif.
The film is slated for theatrical release on January 26
