After weaving his magic with words, Prasoon Joshi is all set to weave the same magic with music. Having made an indelible impression as a wordsmith par excellence, the National Award and two-time Filmfare Award winner, is adding one more feather to his cap. Known for his amazing way words, Prasoon will now be displaying his musical talent as well. Prasoon has composed music for Prakash Jha’s most anticipated film after Rajneeti - Aarakshan. He has not only written four evocative songs for this project, the music of which is by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy, but for the very first time he’s composed a song too with the support of ace singer and music director Shankar Mahadevan.
'The song, 'Kaun Si Dor' is a wonderful song and the idea was to center it on a philosophical level, at the same time something the common man could easily identify with. Often whilst writing lyrics, a composition comes up in my head and whilst writing this song the composition just flowed through my mind. I bounced it off Prakashji and Shankar and they too loved it. Shankar was graceful enough to keep this as part of the album and am genuinely thankful. 'Kaun si Dor’ comes at a poignant juncture in the film and am looking forward to how it turns out', said Prasoon.
Not many people know that Prasoon comes from a family with a strong musical background. Both his parents are classically trained and he himself had Ustad Hafiz Ahmed Khan as his Hindustani classical vocal guru. In fact Prasoon has often composed and sung many of his advertising jingles. Apart from this being Prasoon’s first composition he is very excited that it has been sung by renowned classical vocalist Pt. Chunnual Misra.
