For people from the old school – like me – visiting a retail outlet to purchase [yes, purchase, not download] still remains a thrilling experience. That experience has just moved to another level with fresh pressings of classic rock as well as latest titles appearing on a once forgotten format, vinyl. And with the curious resurgence of the only physical audio product showing a year-on-year growth in the recent past has resulted in a parallel resurgence: the record player [or turn table], once thought to have been relegated to obsolescence similar to the spool player or eight-track machine, has been reborn, and how. Internationally, outside just the traditional analogue players, other players are available too: those designed to connect to computers for converting music to digital files for transfer onto portable/personal devices.
